Research (REACH)
The REACH (Research-Enriched Academic Challenge) award offers the opportunity for SIU Carbondale undergraduate students to work with a faculty member on independent creative activities or research.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR REACH?- Degree-seeking undergraduates in all SIU Carbondale majors are encouraged to apply.
- Applicants who are currently enrolled as a full-time Southern Illinois University Carbondale student with a GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Applicants who are enrolled as a full-time SIU Carbondale undergraduate student during at least the fall and spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year.
- Applicants who will work closely with a faculty mentor in their area of research/creative interest to plan the project, prepare the application, and carry out the project.
- Only one application may be submitted per student.
- Past recipients of this award are not eligible to reapply.

Resources for Major Exploration
SIU offers 200+ undergraduate majors, minors, and specializations. The requirements for each program are explained under the degree requirements in the Undergraduate Catalog.
The degree abbreviations used are:

In addition to the majors and minors listed, pre-health professional preparation is offered in chiropractic, dentistry, medicine, nursing, optometry, podiatry, and veterinary medicine. Scholarships
The Saluki Scholarship Portal is a place where both incoming admitted students and continuing students can apply for donor-funded scholarships offered by colleges, schools and departments across campus. Saluki Spokes Free Bike Repair

SalukiTech Printing Services
SalukiTech Printing provides and maintains printers for use by students, as well as faculty and staff. These printers are conveniently located in more than 30 locations across campus—including public spaces and campus housing. You may print to any of the SalukiTech printers from any University-owned or personal device as long as you have access to the SIU eduroam network. You may send a print job from off campus if you have VPN access. No matter where you are working, you can queue your print job and then pick it up at any SalukiTech station on campus. And, don’t worry about privacy! SalukiTech printing requests are held in a virtual print queue (up to 24 hours) until you arrive at the print station and start the job. All SalukiTech printers accept Debit Dawg.
SalukiTech Computer Labs
Computer labs provide access to multiple computer workstations for "hands-on" general access, group collaboration, or classroom use.
The Computer Learning Centers (CLCs) are the computer labs centrally managed by SalukiTech's CLC team. The CLCs are open to all SIU students, faculty, and staff, including graduates, emeriti, and retirees. Departmental computer labs frequently serve only those departments. Contact information for scheduling computer labs varies by location.
